Help us Fund the New Restrooms for the Garden
Every spring, thousands of visitors wander the paths of Humboldt Botanical Garden — grandparents pushing strollers, school children chasing butterflies through the Native Plant Garden, hikers pausing between coastal trails, birders attending the monthly bird walk. They come for beauty. But increasingly, they leave early for one very human reason: the Garden does not have adequate restrooms.
We are so close to fixing that.
Thanks to the generosity of donors in our community, as of August 31st, we have raised $234,500 of our $350,000 goal. We have already installed 900 feet (!) of sewer line, and are nearly complete with design and engineering. The site is ready. The community is waiting.
We need $115,500 more to begin construction on the new restrooms.
This is not a glamorous project. It will not bloom in April or draw photographers in October. But it is the single most requested improvement in our visitor surveys — and it is the difference between a garden people visit and a garden where people can truly linger, learn, and return.
New, accessible, water-wise restrooms will mean:
Every gift — whether $50 or $5,000 — moves us closer to the day we cut the ribbon. Every dollar goes directly to construction, and every gift is acknowledged with our deepest thanks.
