The fact that I can plant a seed and it becomes a flower, share a bit of knowledge and it becomes another’s, smile at someone and receive a smile in return, are to me continual spiritual exercises. -Leo F. Buscaglia
Docents at the Humboldt Botanical Garden lead groups and individuals through the garden. Topics often covered in a tour include plant identification, uses, culture and qualities; wildlife and wildlife habitat; garden design; horticulture; environmental stewardship and more. Special and large group tours must be arranged ahead of time and may require a fee. Please contact the office if you would like to schedule a docent led tour.
Do you like to share your knowledge of plants and gardens? Do you like helping people? Do you like being outdoors? Do you like making new friends? Are you comfortable speaking in front of groups? If these qualities apply to you, consider becoming a Humboldt Botanical Garden Docent.
All Humboldt Botanical Garden Docents must complete the HBGF Docent Training Program.
